YP furniture is part of the JDP Furniture Group which has its headquarters at Long Eaton near Nottingham. JDP Furniture Group is a privately-owned limited company and in addition to YP Furniture, it also owns the Celebrity, Cintique, Parker & Farr and Wade Upholstery brands.
YP Furniture has been in existence for over 20 years and makes several ranges of wooden and painted living, dining and bedroom furniture. It enjoys a reputation for nicely designed, good quality products and includes such well-known high street retailers as British Home Stores and John Lewis amongst its customers. Like many British furniture manufacturers, it has tried to maintain a manufacturing presence in the UK but economic pressures and the burdens of legislation have forced a reduction in its UK manufacturing capacity. Until recently YP Furniture’s flagship range was its Country House range of painted bedroom, living and dining room furniture.
This has gradually been replaced with other painted ranges, such as the
Rochelle range, and contemporary oak ranges such as the Chepstow range. Other ranges that were also made by the company until recently include the Grace, Java, and Madison ranges.
YP Furniture’s current ranges include: Chepstow, Rochelle, Maison and
Henley. Some of these ranges, such as Chepstow, comprise bedroom furniture only, such as chests of drawers, dressing tables, beds and wardrobes.
Others like the Maison range are exclusively dining room ranges comprising dining tables, dining chairs and sideboards and others offer a combination of dining and living room furniture, with the addition of, for example, nests of tables, coffee tables, side tables, TV units and dressers or display cabinets. A few ranges, such as the Henley range, offer a complete selection of bedroom, living and dining room furniture.
