Further product information:
Old Cotswold 5 drawer chest:Old Cotswold contemporary furniture captures the true charm and values of the traditional country furniture on which it has been based.
It is every inch the furniture that might have been commissioned by a Yeoman Farmer of the local carpenter. But carefully designed proportions, fittings and even seasoning of the timber, makes it practical and convenient for use in modern homes.
The Old Cotswold collection is supplied fully assembled, although larger items such as beds, tables and wardrobes may be broken down into component form to facilitate delivery.
Please note: this range has a heavily distressed finish, with marks and some significant scarring. Surfaces are deliberately made to look heavily worn.
Oak furniture characteristics
What should you expect from your oak furniture purchase from rightpricefurniture? Oak is a natural material with beautiful variations of grain patter, knots and colour in every piece of furniture. So, no two pieces of oak furniture you buy from this website will be exactly alike.
Oak furniture (along with most other hard woods) tends to crack and split as it ages, giving the furniture a beautifully unique look.
You’ll also find that your oak furniture will gradually mellow (darken) in colour over time, so new oak furniture will initially look paler that older oak furniture. Because of this, for the first few months after you’ve bought your oak furniture, rightpricefurniture advise that you do not leave a vase, ornament or other item in one place on the oak for too long, as the area of furniture covered will mellow less that the surrounding area. Oak Furniture care tips, from rightpricefurniture
Oak furniture care tips include ensuring that neither hot nor wet objects are placed on waxed oak furniture, as they can cause marks on the oak. If you should accidentally cause a heat or damp mark on your oak furniture, try rubbing the furniture’s surface gently along the grain only with some wax oak furniture polish applied to a piece of 0000 grade (very fine) wire wool. Provided that the marking is not too serious, this process should reduce or eliminate the mark and your
oak furniture will be as good as new once more. It may be necessary to extend your wire wool and wax treatment to the whole surface of the oak furniture in order to even out the sheen of the finish.
