Reclaimed furniture
The Reclaimed look is a variation of the Rustic collection as it is made from timber that has signs of wear or repair to give it that well-used appearance.
Large panels and table tops in the
Hampshire range for example, often show surface imperfections that would not be present in timber ‘fresh from the mill’ and sometimes have fillets inlaid such as might be used to replace a large knot or damage.
The reclaimed look is also available in self-assembly form with the sturdy looking
Plank range (made from planks!). This achieves its reclaimed look by sawing the timber ‘against the grain,’ a process strenuously avoided by traditional cabinet-makers as it has the effect of raising the soft fibres in the timber resulting in a rough textured surface.
