Lincoln Pine Bedroom Furniture
The Lincoln range is similar to the Cotswold range, being good quality bedroom furniture made from solid pine. The main differences are that it has a wax, rather than a lacquer finish and the handles are metal instead of wood. A distinctive feature of the range is the use of bun feet on all cabinet pieces.
Given the look and overall feel of quality, it is perhaps surprising that this is a self-assembly range of furniture. However, if properly constructed, it should give years of trouble-free service.
The drawers, for example, are constructed with dovetail joints. Heavy duty plywood is used in place of wood panels for the drawer bases and backs. However, solid wood drawer bases need to be fitted by experienced craftsmen who know how to allow for the shrinkage and expansion of the wood, whereas this problem does not occur with plywood.
