The Dovedale range is good quality bedroom furniture made from solid pine and supplied in a wipe clean lacquer finish.
Simple styling has produced furniture with a pleasing appearance and a distinctive feature of the range is the use of bun feet on all cabinet pieces.
Given the look and overall feel of quality, it is perhaps surprising that this is a self-assembly range of furniture. However, if properly constructed, it should give years of trouble-free service. The drawers, for example, are constructed with dovetail joints.
Heavy duty plywood is used in place of wood panels for the drawer bases and backs.
However, solid wood drawer bases need to be fitted by experienced craftsmen who know how to allow for the shrinkage and expansion of the wood, whereas this problem does not occur with plywood.
Pine furniture characteristics
What should you expect from your pine furniture purchase from rightpricefurniture? Pine is a natural material with beautiful variations of grain patter, knots and colour in every piece of furniture. So, no two pieces of pine furniture from rightpricefurniture will be exactly alike.
You’ll find that your pine furniture will gradually mellow (darken) in colour over time, so new pine furniture will initially look paler that older pine furniture. Because of this, for the first few months after you’ve bought your pine furniture, rightpricefurniture advise that you do not leave a vase, ornament or other item in one place on the pine for too long, as the area of furniture covered will mellow less that the surrounding area. Solid Pine Furniture.
Pine furniture finishes
Pine furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the pine furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
2. Lacquered. The pine furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the pine furniture a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for pine furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed pine furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed pine furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the pine furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day pine furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
Many of the CPW Furniture Ranges are available in these finishes. Please see
