Hampshire Mirror:
The Hampshire ranges of reclaimed pine furniture bear a strong resemblance to furniture widely available during the late 19th and early to mid-20th Centuries.  Detailing touches, such as the ceramic handles and ceramic inlays, reinforce this late Victorian feel. Distressed detailing of the wood, including some marking and fillet inlays, adds age and completes the look.

Despite the reclaimed appearance, Hampshire furniture is strongly constructed of solid pine and supplied full assembled. However, some of items may be supplied in sectional form to allow for delivery.

The wood is stained a dark honey/light treacle colour and finished with a lacquer coating.  The ceramic handles and inlays are white with patterning that ranges in hue from a subtle lilac to royal blue.

Reclaimed Timber furniture characteristics

What should you expect from your reclaimed timber furniture purchase from this website? Reclaimed timber is a natural material with beautiful variations of grain patter, knots and colour in every piece of furniture. So, no two pieces of reclaimed timber furniture you buy from this website will be exactly alike.

Furniture made from reclaimed timber does not look perfect and in fact, reclaimed timber furniture is deliberately made to look worn.  No two pieces will be the same, and variations in shade and finish and appearance are completely normal.  Reclaimed timber will crack and split fairly extensively as it ages, giving it a beautiful and unique look.

You’ll find that your reclaimed timber furniture will gradually mellow (darken) in colour over time, so new reclaimed timber furniture will initially look paler that older reclaimed timber furniture. Because of this, for the first few months after you’ve bought your reclaimed timber furniture, we advise that you do not leave a vase, ornament or other item in one place on the timber for too long, as the area of furniture covered will mellow less that the surrounding area.

How to move reclaimed timber furniture

Reclaimed timber bought from this website will be moved into your house for you. However, if you want to move your reclaimed timber furniture once you have bought it, you should always lift your furniture rather than dragging it.   Reclaimed timber furniture has a plinth structure, and dragging it can cause damage to this.

Some two-part items of reclaimed timber furniture are provided with installation fixings (eg: to secure the top and bottom ash furniture sections together).  For your safety, if any of these are enclosed when the reclaimed timber furniture is delivered, they should always be used.

Additionally, if you are moving your reclaimed timber furniture then make sure you choose a suitable location.  Reclaimed timber furniture should be placed away from heat sources (eg: radiators), and you should also place reclaimed timber furniture away from unusually humid locations.
