ASL Ashley solid ash living and dining room furniture
The Ashley collection of contemporary styled living and dining room furniture is made with ash, a very clean light-coloured hardwood known for its shock resistant properties. Quality features of the Ashley range include the use of dovetail joints in construction of the drawers.
The understated styling of this fully assembled range is completed with the use of simple, bright metal handles. Altogether a very pleasing collection and something for the individual who likes to be just that little bit different!
It is a fully assembled range although some larger items such as tables may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
Please note: Much of the hardwood used for furniture manufactured in Asia may be described locally as Oak. While its appearance, density and durability is almost identical to oak, sometimes this timber is actually from the Ash (Fraxinus) family. In order to be as accurate as possible, we therefore market this furniture as being made from Ash, even though the manufacturer’s packaging may say Oak.
0805 Shock Resistant Ash
Ash is a native hardwood of the UK. It is easily recognised by the grey bark and matt black buds for the leaves. It is a shockproof timber which is why it used to be used for the spokes of cartwheels and for tool handles, such as hammers, axes and so forth. During the 20th century ash was also used as the frame for the bodywork of a great number of vehicles, the most obvious example is perhaps the Morris Minor Traveller which has an external ash frame to the rear part. Many other makes of car also used this system of construction, such as Alvis, Riley and Rover.
2404 Dining tables Sizes
In all cases we try to indicate whether the dining table has a fixed or extending top and to indicate the length (or is it width?) of the table when it is open or closed.
If you find a table that does not show these sizes, then please contact us and we will aim to remedy the situation.
