This NH10 3' High End Bed is from the Devonshire new Solid Oak range of Oak Bedroom furniture. It has a high Foot end and is made with Solid Oak Including the Slats. The Devonshire New Solid Oak 3' High End Bed is completed with a Lacquer finish.
This 3' New Solid Oak Bed would make a brilliant first time bed for a child. With it's contemporary style this bed would go well with different settings such as bold and bright or calm and neutral.
Did you know? During the Great Depression in America during the 1930s and 1940s, furniture manufacturers survived by making cheap bedroom suites. These were aimed at newlyweds who often couldn’t afford their own homes and had to live in a room at their parents’ house. As the bedroom suite was the only furniture they could have of their own at the start of their married life, many people became strongly attached to it and kept it long after their economic circumstances improved. Even today when such items come up for sale, their price is driven more by sentiment than the intrinsic quality of the furniture.
The side rails, head and foot ends of this bed are made from solid oak throughout and completed in a tough lacquer finish. The mattress (not supplied) is supported on wooden slats fixed to the side rails. In its fully assembled form it would be difficult, if not impossible, to deliver this bed into most of the rooms chosen for its use.
It is therefore supplied partially dismantled into four or five major assemblies. This has been a common practice for beds since medieval times.
