The Ogee collection derives its name from the ogee ‘S’ shape curves used in styling the bracket feet. This design motif was part of the Gothic Revival style of architecture and design, popular during the Victorian era.
Constructed from solid pine and fitted with turned wooden handles, the Ogee collection is offered in a wide choice of wooden or distressed painted finishes. It is supplied fully assembled, although larger items may be broken down into component form to facilitate delivery.
Knots are the marks where a limb or branch has been cut off when trees are converted into planks. In new timber, nutrients in the form of resin may continue to pass through these points for some considerable time, causing 'bleeding' through to the surface. This is a natural process and is more noticeable with painted furniture.
