Devonshire Badger Pine Dining Room Furniture
Badger dining furniture is one of the series of pine ranges made in Britain by Devonshire Pine Ltd. It is a high-quality, fully assembled range of furniture, that features timber panelling to drawer bases and cabinet backs and the use of dovetail joints in drawer construction.
This is the kind of properly-made furniture that at one time would have been found in cottages and farmhouses throughout the country. The key styling difference between the Badger and other Devonshire Pine ranges is the use of a scroll styling motif to doors and panel tops.
The standard finishes for the Badger range are Classic Wax and Rustic Wax. All other finishes are special order items.

0401 The colour of Pine
There is a characteristic of all wooden furniture, pine furniture in particular, that sometimes confuses purchasers. This is the fact that pine will change colour as it ages. When untreated pine furniture is brand new, it is almost white in colour. As it ages, atmospheric conditions will cause the wood to darken and yellow. This is an inevitable part of the ageing process and all wax, lacquer and other finishes will intensify this effect. Problems may arise when, for example, a pine item of furniture is purchased to be followed some years later by another item of pine furniture from the same range. On delivery there will be a disparity in colour between the two items. The purchaser may not have noticed the gradual change in colour over the years of ownership. Fortunately, within the space of perhaps a year, the difference between the two colours will reduce.
