Devonshire Badger Pine Dining Room Furniture
Badger dining furniture is one of the series of pine ranges made in Britain by Devonshire Pine Ltd. It is a high-quality, fully assembled range of furniture, that features timber panelling to drawer bases and cabinet backs and the use of dovetail joints in drawer construction.
This is the kind of properly-made furniture that at one time would have been found in cottages and farmhouses throughout the country. The key styling difference between the Badger and other Devonshire Pine ranges is the use of a scroll styling motif to doors and panel tops.
The standard finishes for the Badger range are Classic Wax and Rustic Wax. All other finishes are special order items.

1504 Bookcases The History
The bookcase as it is recognised today should perhaps more correctly be known as the bookshelf.
Bookcases were actually enclosed cases used for protecting the books that were painstakingly written and then illustrated by hand up to and during the Middle Ages.
The development of printing press was the Internet revolution of its day. Now knowledge could be captured on paper and easily distributed. Critics who were used to knowledge being passed on from person to person were worried that if a book caught fire or was damaged, the knowledge would be lost forever, whereas committing knowledge to memory was much safer and more reliable.
0404 Pine furniture finishes
Pine furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the pine furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
2. Lacquered. The pine furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the pine furniture a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for pine furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed pine furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed pine furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the pine furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day pine furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
