PD Global's Kheri Indian-style 3 Drawer Drum Chest:
PD Global Kheri Indian Style Collection
The Kheri range is ideal for those seeking furniture with a strong flavour of the Indian subcontinent.  This is achieved with two very distinctive elements: the highly contrasting grain patterns of the Sheesham and Acacia wood and the incorporation of jali into many pieces in the range.

The collection is solid wood throughout and comes fully assembled. Larger items may have been broken down into component form to facilitate delivery.

Please note: this range has a heavily distressed finish, with marks and some significant scarring.  For example, nails have been driven into some timbers to cause cracks and splitting.  Surfaces are deliberately made to look heavily worn.

1905 Chest of Drawers from Right Price Furniture

Our Chest of Drawers prices start at less than £100 for the simple chests of drawers and while we would not deny that lower cost furniture may be available from 'home style' or DIY chains, we believe our prices are the best you'll find for good quality.
Useable chests of drawers are intended to provide good service in an attractive package.  Most of the chests of drawers on offer are made of solid timber and built in a traditional manner, using solid timber panelling to drawer bases and cabinet backs.
Even the lower cost, self assembly ranges are of good quality, with some featuring dovetail jointed drawers and other elements normally found only in the more expensive fully assembled furniture.

0601 Indian Furniture - What is it?

What is meant by the term Indian furniture, as used in the British furniture retail sector?  It does not include furniture of the Native American peoples, as might well be the case in North America; nor does it include, however unlikely, furniture that has some connection with the Caribbean or West Indies.

In UK, the indian furniture term is applied to any furniture style that might originate from, or have been influenced by, the Indian Sub-Continent.  It is not restricted only to furniture that has been made in the country of India. Of course, Indian furniture is widely regarded as a relatively new category in the UK, but actually the styling influences extend back some 400 years, or as far back as Britain’s first contact with the region, which began in the 1600s.  Merchants and traders were impressed and charmed by both the qualities of the many different species of timber and by the quite elaborate and intricate decorative styles they found.
