This bed is a large item of furniture. In its fully assembled form it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to gain access with it into most of the rooms chosen for its use. It is therefore supplied partially dismantled into four or five major assemblies. This has been a common practice for beds since medieval times. Re-assembly of this bed is a relatively straightforward procedure requiring only basic tools. The Hampshire ranges of reclaimed pine furniture bear a strong resemblance to furniture widely available during the late 19th and early to mid-20th Centuries. Detailing touches, such as the ceramic handles and ceramic inlays, reinforce this late Victorian feel. Distressed detailing of the wood, including some marking and fillet inlays, adds age and completes the look.

Despite the reclaimed appearance, Hampshire furniture is strongly constructed of solid pine. The wood is stained a dark honey/light treacle colour and finished with a lacquer coating. The ceramic handles and inlays are white with patterning that ranges in hue from a subtle lilac to royal blue.

This is a fully assembled range although some larger items such as beds and wardrobes may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
