Farmed Teak Wood or Tectona Grandis as it is also known, is a thriving and controlled industry and  that is part down to the Monarch, employing foresight and intervention along with the enforcement by the Royal Thai Forestry Department. Mangos of many species are farmed in Thailand as it is a cultural staple crop for the nation’s food supply. As with any fruit trees; there is an optimum life cycle for its fruit bearing ability. The trees are replanted continuously and a supply of wood is generated. The tree type and life cycle most mango wood products are under 15” in diameter. The heart wood is a beautiful blond wood which frequently stains during drying to form unique and wonderful color variations. Mango is hard but is easily worked and polishes to a superb glossy finish.
