How do I order furniture from you?

You can order furniture from us in one of four ways:
1. Online from this website (please see the instructions below)
2. By email
3. By telephone
4. In person by visiting our showrooms.
Please read our Terms & Conditions before placing your order

How do I order furniture online?

Just find the furniture that you want to buy and add that furniture to your basket by clicking 'add to basket' (beside each item on screen). When you're ready to order online, just follow the simple and secure process on the 'my basket' page and we'll be in touch once your order has been processed – it’s as easy as that!

How do I pay for my furniture?

When we receive your order we will contact you to arrange payment by credit or debit card. You will be advised of how long we expect it to take for your furniture to arrive with us from the manufacturer.

What happens next?

After all the items in your order have arrived at our warehouse, your complete order is then transferred to the delivery company who will contact you to arrange delivery.

This does not apply to furniture delivered by courier. In this case your details will be passed directly to the courier company who will contact you to arrange delivery.

What guarantee does furniture come with?

All furniture from Right Price Furniture comes with a 2 year guarantee against manufacturing defects. Should a problem manifest itself within this period the furniture will be repaired or replaced.

What happens if the furniture arrives damaged?

Goods that are damaged on arrival with the customer will be replaced at no additional cost. It is in the customers own interests to unwrap and fully inspect all furniture at the time of delivery.

Customers have up to seven days following delivery to report damage, but claims must be supported by photographs and it is the responsibility of the customer to show the damage has not been caused by any misuse or mishandling following delivery. All claims must be supported by photographs. If you do not have a camera, rightpricefurnitutre will mail you a disposable camera for return and processing by us.

Can I cancel my order?

You may cancel your order at any time within 3 days of placement without charge, provided the goods have not already been despatched. Any orders cancelled after this time will incur a 25% cancellation fee.

Any goods returned within 7 days of receipt will attract a full refund, with the only liability on the customer being the costs of delivery and collection. The goods must be in their original packaging and be in perfect condition. A refund will only be given when the returned goods have been received and inspected by us.

Delivery
Don’t forget to read our page on Delivery and our Terms & Conditions

Where can you deliver furniture to?

We deliver furniture anywhere accessible by lorry within mainland UK*. See our deliveries page for more information on the cost and installation services available.
*Customers who live outside the mainland may be able to specify delivery to a shipping company but please contact us first to discuss the implications for returns and guarantees policies.

How long will it take for my furniture to be delivered?

The short answer is, normally between 4 and 5 weeks from date of order to arrival at your door or, for less frequent items, up to 8 weeks.

Please refrain from telephoning us until the full delivery time quoted has passed – we only follow up orders that are behind schedule and we will contact you if your order arrives sooner than expected.

When your order arrives at our warehouse, it passes to our delivery company who will contact you to arrange a delivery time, typically within the next 7 to 14 days. Routes are planned to minimise environmental impact by being as fuel efficient as possible, so delivery may be a little longer for some ‘difficult’ locations.

Although waiting times are dependent on manufacturers, the large volumes of furniture supplied to Right Price Furniture mean our customers’ orders always receive a high priority.

Can I trust your delivery timescales?

Yes you can! When Right Price Furniture gives you a delivery quote it will be correct 99% of the time. We're so confident of our delivery in fact, that if for any reason we are more than 21 days later than the quoted timescale, your contract with us entitles you to cancel your order and have a full refund. We are the only furniture company who offer this guarantee.

Is furniture delivery expensive?

We believe our subsidised delivery charges are not unreasonable. Please remember they are per order and not per item (except couriered items). If you are unhappy with the cost, please compare it with the cost of sending a 10kg parcel by Royal Mail.

Alternatively, if you have access to your own transport, you are most welcome to save the delivery charge and collect your order in person from our Bridgend showrooms. We are 168 miles from London and 135 miles from Birmingham.

What if furniture doesn't fit up my stairs?

Most of the larger items of furniture that arrive fully assembled can be partially dismantled to fit through confined or awkward spaces. If, after taking your own measurements, you decide you would like the delivery company to dismantle (and then reassemble) your furniture for you, please let them know in advance of scheduling the delivery. The delivery company will charge for this service.

On the rare occasion that the items cannot be fitted in the chosen room, we will return them to our Bridgend showrooms and give you a full credit to purchase other goods. We do however, have to charge for the failed delivery.

Why can’t you deliver my furniture when I choose?

One of the ways we keep down our costs to you, the customer, is to plan routes and schedules as efficiently as possible. This means it is not always possible to deliver on specific days or at specific times, although the delivery company will always try to meet the needs of customers within the limitations of their schedules.

What to expect from your furniture

Why hasn’t my wardrobe/bed/table been delivered fully assembled?

Wardrobes and other large or heavy items of furniture are difficult to manoeuvre. This presents a risk of causing damage to property or injury to persons. To minimize these risks, large items of furniture are often partially dismantled for delivery. They are designed to be partially dismantled, this does not detract from their quality, it does not make them ‘flat pack furniture’ and it is a practice that top quality furniture makers have been using since the middle of the 19th Century.

If you require assistance with re-assembly of the wardrobe, please tell the delivery service when they contact you to arrange the delivery date. Please note there is a charge for this service.

What do I need to know about owning wooden furniture?

Unlike plastic or metal furniture which is cold and impersonal, wooden furniture has variations in grain, pattern colour and texture that make each piece as unique as your fingerprint. It is a natural, organic material and continues to react to its environment long after it has been harvested from the living tree.

Wood will exhibit variations in colour, grain pattern and tone within individual pieces of furniture and between different items of furniture from the same range. This is not a fault but a natural characteristic of the material. Wood will also change colour as it ages. Again this is not a fault but part of the inherent characteristics of the material.

It is not unusual for wooden furniture to crack or split as the timber settles; this happens more frequently with waxed furniture and is completely normal. If you are concerned that the split may be excessive (more than 2 or 3mm wide, for example) then please send us photographs.

Wooden furniture will also swell in damp conditions and shrink in hot, dry conditions. Please do not subject your wooden furniture to areas which attract strong sunlight and heat such as conservatories.

Waxed furniture requires regular wax treatments to preserve its appearance. The wax is merely a coating on bare wood, and as such the wood will exhibit shiny marks where the wax may have been rubbed. This is natural and unavoidable.

No wooden product is entirely stain or heat resistant, although a lacquered product offers slightly greater protection. Avoid spilling liquids (including toiletries or beauty products), or placing drinks directly onto the furniture.

What is a ‘distressed finish’ or ‘distressed furniture’?

When we describe furniture as distressed, or as having a distressed finish, it means it will show a variety of imperfections to the surfaces, such as cracked, flaking or incomplete paintwork or lacquer, marks, gouges, splits or cracks to the surfaces or any other blemishes deliberately intended to create a worn, aged or re-used appearance. You may also find it helpful to see our page on distressed furniture.

What do I need to know about owning painted furniture?

Wood and wood-based furniture has inherent inconsistencies in the absorbency of its surface. It is inevitable therefore that this will result in moderate colour variations in the finish on mass-market painted furniture, There are also variations in colour finishes depicted on the internet due to technical factors, such a lighting of the furniture when photographed, editing of images and variations between video display units (VDUs).

Paint is normally only applied to the external surfaces of furniture. Internal surfaces will either be in bare wood or a thin or mist coat.

What are Special Orders?

When goods are ordered to a non-standard specification or finish to suit the taste of an individual customer, they cannot easily be offered for resale elsewhere. In these cases they are classed as special order items. Customers who cancel a special order must therefore pay for the costs incurred by rightpricefurniture. This includes any carriage costs incurred or any charges made to us by the manufacturer.

All special orders are subject to a non-refundable deposit of 50%.

What finish can I have on my furniture?

Some ranges of furniture can be specified with a choice of different lacquer, wax or painted finishes. Please check the description of the specific item in which you are interested.
