Bergere Painted French Style Corner Display:The Bergere collection of painted furniture is a contemporary range that draws its inspiration from the French Rococo style of the 18th Century.
Indeed, even the name is taken from a style of chair that first appeared at this time. Painted in an off-white eggshell finish, the Bergere collection features the sort of lavish, romantic flourishes and decoration that typified the Rococo style.
This is a fully assembled range although some larger items such as beds and wardrobes may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
Please note: this range has a heavily distressed finish, with marks and some significant scarring. Surfaces are deliberately made to look heavily worn.
Reclaimed Timber furniture finishes
Reclaimed timber furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the reclaimed timber furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
. Lacquered. The reclaimed timber furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the reclaimed timber a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for reclaimed timber furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed reclaimed timber furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed reclaimed timber furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the reclaimed timber furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day reclaimed timber furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
How to move reclaimed timber furniture
Reclaimed timber bought from this website will be moved into your house for you. However, if you want to move your reclaimed timber furniture once you have bought it, you should always lift your furniture rather than dragging it. Reclaimed timber furniture has a plinth structure, and dragging it can cause damage to this.
Some two-part items of reclaimed timber furniture are provided with installation fixings (eg: to secure the top and bottom ash furniture sections together). For your safety, if any of these are enclosed when the reclaimed timber furniture is delivered, they should always be used.
Additionally, if you are moving your reclaimed timber furniture then make sure you choose a suitable location. Reclaimed timber furniture should be placed away from heat sources (eg: radiators), and you should also place reclaimed timber furniture away from unusually humid locations.
