Further product information:
Bergere Painted French Style Drop Leaf Table:The Bergere collection of painted furniture is a contemporary range that draws its inspiration from the French Rococo style of the 18th Century.
Indeed, even the name is taken from a style of chair that first appeared at this time. Painted in an off-white eggshell finish, the Bergere collection features the sort of lavish, romantic flourishes and decoration that typified the Rococo style.
This is a fully assembled range although some larger items such as beds and wardrobes may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
Please note: this range has a heavily distressed finish, with marks and some significant scarring. Surfaces are deliberately made to look heavily worn.
Important information
The legs on this dining table are removed for delivery purposes. This makes it easier to move it into the chosen room and also helps reduce the strains imposed on the furniture itself during the delivery process. Re-assembly is a straightforward process and requires only basic tools. However, if you would like assistance with re-assembly of this table, please let the delivery company know when they telephone to arrange the delivery appointment. Please note: the delivery company will charge for this service.
Reclaimed Timber furniture finishes
Reclaimed timber furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the reclaimed timber furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
. Lacquered. The reclaimed timber furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the reclaimed timber a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for reclaimed timber furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed reclaimed timber furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed reclaimed timber furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the reclaimed timber furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day reclaimed timber furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
Reclaimed Timber Furniture care tips
Reclaimed timber furniture care tips include ensuring that neither hot nor wet objects are placed on waxed reclaimed timber furniture, as they can cause marks on the reclaimed timber. If you should accidentally cause a heat or damp mark on your reclaimed timber furniture, try rubbing the furniture’s surface gently along the grain only with some wax oak furniture polish applied to a piece of 0000 grade (very fine) wire wool. Provided that the marking is not too serious, this process should reduce or eliminate the mark and your reclaimed timber furniture will be as good as new once more. It may be necessary to extend your wire wool and wax treatment to the whole surface of the reclaimed timber furniture in order to even out the sheen of the finish.
