Country Pine Warehouse, or CPW, originated as a business stripping antique pine furniture. This knowledge and experience has led it to become a major supplier of quality pine furniture all made in classic styles. All items, whether cabinets, tables or chairs, are made of solid wood using traditional jointed and glued methods of construction. They arrive at Right Price Furniture in bare wood and can therefore be prepared in a choice of finishes to match your requirements or even left for you to complete in your own fashion.
Beech furniture finishes
Beech furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the beech furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
2. Lacquered. The beech furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the beech furniture a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for beech furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed beech furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed beech furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the beech furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day beech furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
A lot of our
Pine & Beech chairs can finished with different waxs or laquers, an example is the
Fiddle Back Rocking Chair.
Furniture finishes: wooden furniture
There are two main types of furniture finish waxed and lacquered.
Waxing furniture involves coating the wooden furniture with a thin layer of the wax, such as the
Devonshire Pine Collection. The majority of people who request a wax finish for their wooden furniture are seeking the rustic furniture look, which is exactly what waxed furniture gives you!
If you are seeking a cleaner, more perfectly finished look then you should consider a lacquered finish. The
Devonshire New Solid Oak range is a popular choice for lacquered furniture.
There are emerging ranges such as the increasingly popular
Trafalgar Oak Collection that are designed to offer a specific rustic appearance. Another fine example is
The Hampshire collection which is made from reclaimed wood.
