At Right Price Furniture we’ll go to (almost) any lengths to provide what our customers want. That’s why we have introduced the Derwen Oak range. Almost identical to some of our other leading oak ranges, the Derwen range is made of high quality oak* and shares many of the same high quality hallmarks.
These include wood-panelled drawer bases and cabinet backs and the use of dovetailed joints in constructing drawers. The main differences are in the styling.
Derwen Oak furniture features a curved chamfer edge to cabinet tops and chamfered, rather than square finished, leg ends to all floor-standing cabinets.
Derwen Oak furniture has a light oak appearance and is finished in a tough, hard-wearing lacquer finish.
The collection comes fully assembled apart from some of the larger items which are sectional to allow for delivery.
*Please note: some panels are hardwood sections finished with an oak veneer. For background information see our

Oak furniture characteristics
What should you expect from your oak furniture purchase from rightpricefurniture? Oak is a natural material with beautiful variations of grain patter, knots and colour in every piece of furniture. So, no two pieces of oak furniture you buy from this website will be exactly alike.
Oak furniture (along with most other hard woods) tends to crack and split as it ages, giving the furniture a beautifully unique look.
You’ll also find that your oak furniture will gradually mellow (darken) in colour over time, so new oak furniture will initially look paler that older oak furniture. Because of this, for the first few months after you’ve bought your oak furniture, rightpricefurniture advise that you do not leave a vase, ornament or other item in one place on the oak for too long, as the area of furniture covered will mellow less that the surrounding area. You can view a guide to choosing
Solid Oak Furniture.
Wooden furniture: rustic or perfect?
Wooden furniture will naturally expand and contract within its environment, with naturally occurring cracks because of this. If you are looking for a more polished look for your furniture, rightpricefurniture would recommend you purchase furniture from us with a lacquered finish. Furniture lacquer acts as a glue, seal and filler helping to prevent the wooden furniture from cracking. So, lacquered furniture will crack less than waxed.
For example the
Devonshire Pine Badger Range has a waxed finish as opposed to the
Devonshire New Solid Oak which has a lacquered finish. There are some ranges specifically designed to have a rustic look, such as the
Trafalgar Oak Collection.
