Further product information:
Devonshire Pine Tarka 3' Bed with Low Foot End:The Tarka range is one of a series of pine furniture ranges made in the UK by Devonshire Pine Ltd. This high quality pine furniture is fully assembled and exhibits quality features such as timber panelling to cabinet backs and drawer bases and dovetail joints for drawer construction.
Tarka furniture has a clean, simple styling; though the quality is evident with, for example, the use of decorative edgings to door and panel rebates and the use of raised and fielded door panels.
All Devonshire Pine ranges are supplied fully assembled, although some larger items such as tables, beds and wardrobes may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
The standard finishes for this range are Classic Wax and Rustic Wax. All other finishes are special order items.
Important informationThis bed is a large item of furniture. In its fully assembled form it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to gain access with it into most of the rooms chosen for its use. It is therefore supplied partially dismantled into four or five major assemblies. This has been a common practice for beds since medieval times. Re-assembly of this bed is a relatively straightforward procedure requiring only basic tools. If however you require assistance, please tell the delivery service when they contact you to arrange the delivery date. Please note there is a charge for this service.
Care of pine furniture
Pine furniture care: here are some tips from rightpricefurniture. Firstly, place your newly bought pine furniture in the right location: away from direct heat sources (e.g. radiators) or unusually humid locations.
Our second pine furniture care tip is to always lift your furniture if you want to move it, rather than dragging furniture across the floor. Pine is a soft wood and so lifting your furniture to move it will ensure you don’t damage the plinth structure.
Thirdly, don’t place hot or wet objects directly onto pine furniture, especially if it is waxed pine furniture. If you accidentally cause any marks on your pine furniture in this way, try rubbing your pine furniture along the grain with some wax furniture polish applied to some very fine (0000 grade) wire wool.

Pine furniture finishes
Pine furniture is generally available in three types of finish. They are:
1. White or sometimes referred to as raw. Raw means that the pine furniture has no stain or topcoat – just a naturally beautiful look.
2. Lacquered. The pine furniture has been stained to a colour of choice and then a clear lacquer is added. This gives the pine furniture a tougher shell which makes it far more resistant to stains, moisture and scratches. This type of finish is the easiest to maintain and clean for pine furniture.
3. Waxed. Our waxed pine furniture is finished in water-based stain and real wax. Waxed pine furniture will benefit from the occasional application of solid wax furniture polish, particularly in its first few months in your home. The sheen of the surface on the pine furniture will probably increase as you apply and buff more furniture wax. Between wax applications, day-to-day pine furniture cleaning can be carried out with a dry duster.
