Further product information:
Devonshire Pine Badger 3' Bed with Low Footend:Of all the Devonshire Pine ranges, the Badger range has perhaps the most ornamentation. Door tops and plinths feature a scroll design motif, whereas its sister ranges feature straight-edged decoration.
Apart from this, the Badger range shares the same quality features, such as solid wood panelling to drawer bases and cabinet backs and the use of dovetailed joints in drawer construction.
All Devonshire Pine ranges are solid wood throughout, feature dovetailed joints, and come fully assembled. However, some larger items such as tables, beds and wardrobes may be partially dismantled to facilitate delivery.
The standard finishes for this range are Classic Wax and Rustic Wax. All other finishes are special order items.
Please also see the
Badger Pine Occasional Dining Furniture.
Important information This bed is a large item of furniture. In its fully assembled form it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to gain access with it into most of the rooms chosen for its use. It is therefore supplied partially dismantled into four or five major assemblies. This has been a common practice for beds since medieval times. Re-assembly of this bed is a relatively straightforward procedure requiring only basic tools. If however you require assistance, please tell the delivery service when they contact you to arrange the delivery date. Please note there is a charge for this service.
How to move pine furniture
Pine furniture bought from rightpricefurniture on this website will be moved into your house for you. However, if you want to move your pine furniture once you have bought it, you should always lift your furniture rather than dragging it. Pine furniture has a plinth structure, and dragging it can cause damage to this.
Some two-part items of pine furniture from rightpricefurniture are provided with installation fixings (eg: to secure the top and bottom pine furniture sections together). For your safety, if any of these are enclosed when the
pine furniture is delivered, they should always be used.
Additionally, if you are moving your pine furniture then make sure you choose a suitable location. Pine furniture should be placed away from heat sources (eg: radiators), and you should also place pine furniture away from unusually humid locations.
Furniture finishes: wooden furniture
There are two main types of furniture finish waxed and lacquered.
Waxing furniture involves coating the wooden furniture with a thin layer of the wax, such as the
Devonshire Pine Collection. The majority of people who request a wax finish for their wooden furniture are seeking the rustic furniture look, which is exactly what waxed furniture gives you!
If you are seeking a cleaner, more perfectly finished look then you should consider a lacquered finish. The
Devonshire New Solid Oak range is a popular choice for lacquered furniture.
There are emerging ranges such as the increasingly popular
Trafalgar Oak Collection that are designed to offer a specific rustic appearance. Another fine example is
The Hampshire collection which is made from reclaimed wood.
