Important information This bed is a large item of furniture. In its fully assembled form it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to gain access with it into most of the rooms chosen for its use. It is therefore supplied partially dismantled into four or five major assemblies. This has been a common practice for beds since medieval times. Re-assembly of this bed is a relatively straightforward procedure requiring only basic tools. If however you require assistance, please tell the delivery service when they contact you to arrange the delivery date. Please note there is a charge for this service.
Care of oak furniture
Oak furniture care: here are some tips from rightpricefurniture. Firstly, place your newly bought oak furniture in the right location: away from direct heat sources (e.g. radiators) or unusually humid locations.
Our second oak furniture care tip is to always lift your furniture if you want to move it, rather than dragging furniture across the floor. Lifting your furniture to move it will ensure you don’t damage the plinth structure.
You should not place hot or wet objects directly onto oak furniture, especially if it is waxed oak furniture. If you accidentally cause any marks on your oak furniture in this way, try rubbing your oak furniture along the grain with some wax furniture polish applied to some very fine (0000 grade) wire wool. Oak furniture characteristics
What should you expect from your oak furniture purchase from rightpricefurniture? Oak is a natural material with beautiful variations of grain patter, knots and colour in every piece of furniture. So, no two pieces of oak furniture you buy from this website will be exactly alike.
Oak furniture (along with most other hard woods) tends to crack and split as it ages, giving the furniture a beautifully unique look.
You’ll also find that your oak furniture will gradually mellow (darken) in colour over time, so new oak furniture will initially look paler that older oak furniture. Because of this, for the first few months after you’ve bought your oak furniture, rightpricefurniture advise that you do not leave a vase, ornament or other item in one place on the oak for too long, as the area of furniture covered will mellow less that the surrounding area.
